Recorded interest is the owner's largest royalty or overriding-royalty decimal on an existing appraised property in that section, with the account number beside it in the file. It is not their interest in the new well. Ector's 2026 roll reports $0 on many older unit interests; the file says so rather than hiding the row. Roll records counts every account the person holds across the tracts matched. The full file carries street addresses and exact values; this preview does not. Open the Martin County sample to see every owner under one county's permits and download the workbook.

What stays out of the mail list

A horizontal well starts on one tract and ends on another. We match where the lateral ends, from the permit's own W-1H, and the section it starts on when the operator wrote that section into the lease name. Diamondback's Cobra 39-34 pad in Glasscock County sits on Section 46, which the lease does not name; the laterals end in Section 34. The 49 owners on record for Section 46 alone are in the file on the research tab, not mailed. Section 39 is named in the lease but on no RRC record for these permits, so its 33 owners are research too.

Two groups had no roll record on the tract they develop: Zarvona's University Misty Red in Upton (the survey is University Lands and the county roll has no record there) and an Enterprise Products permit in Ector with no section on the permit. Each is listed with the observed reason and the RRC link.

One pad is flagged: the DE V Jaguar permits carry T2N in the block field and T4N in the township field for the surface tract. The tract the laterals end on matched on its own identifiers, so those owners are in the mail list; the surface question is written out on the Exceptions tab. Sixteen owners with a missing or placeholder address are on the same tab, out of the mail list, and two rows that look like one person under two accounts are flagged for you to merge.

Delivered every Monday

One workbook covering the prior week's permits across Martin, Midland, Howard, Glasscock, Upton, Andrews, Ector counties, plus the mail list as a CSV. The first file covers the prior two weeks and arrives within two business days. Each week after, a What's new tab shows new groups, new recipients, and recipients you already have with new activity, so you can skip anyone you already mailed. Cancel any month.

What the file can and can’t tell you

The owner data comes from county mineral appraisal rolls, so it is strongest where there is already a producing mineral interest on the development tract. A first well on acreage with no production may have no roll owners yet, and the file says so.

A roll interest on the development tract means a recorded producing interest in that section. It does not establish participation in the new well. Ownership reflects the latest certified county roll and may not include very recent transfers. Addresses are as the district has them; postal verification is not performed.

This is a prospecting dataset, not a title opinion.

Sources: Railroad Commission of Texas drilling permits (15,673 on record), with each permit's W-1 and W-1H linked in the file; county appraisal district certified mineral rolls, 2026. Public records, compiled. Not legal advice.

This report compiles and structures publicly available oil & gas records from the Railroad Commission of Texas — drilling permits, completions, well status, and lease production. We monitor development activity and public filings near a location you tell us about; we do NOT determine mineral ownership, confirm what you own, or provide legal, tax, or investment advice. Nothing here replaces a title opinion, a landman, or reading the official RRC filing. Activity is mapped to the locations the operator filed with the RRC: the permit surface location (NAD27, precision disclaimed by the RRC) and, for horizontal permits in owner files, the W-1H terminus tract. Neither is a title-verified mineral tract. Data is current only as of the source vintage shown on the page. Our total liability for any report is capped at the amount you paid for it. Found an error?
